# Monthly paycheck calculator (2026)

Monthly payroll is 12 checks a year. That is not the same as semimonthly (24) or biweekly (26). Takehome Cash annualizes monthly gross × 12, then applies 2026 federal brackets, FICA, and a state model. The form starts at an $80,000 California salary shown as about $6,666.67 monthly gross.

If your offer letter quotes an annual salary, divide by 12 for this field, or switch frequency to Annual and type the salary once. Typing 80000 while Monthly is selected annualizes to $960,000 — the label now says Gross per month so that trap is visible.

A monthly check is larger than a biweekly check on the same salary, so federal and FICA per check look bigger even when annual tax is similar. Use the frequency control to flip views.

California is the default sample so the state line is visible. Switch to Texas for a no-state-tax monthly stub. Estimates reviewed August 24, 2026.
